Consider creating a crowdfunding page to raise money from friends, family, and anonymous donors who want to help people pursue their dreams. There are a number of websites designed to help you raise money for summer camps and education, including Indiegogo, Generosity.com, and YouCaring.com. Some things to think about when crowdfunding:
- Compare the fees and terms offered by each of the crowdfunding websites. We recommend YouCaring because its donation charge is optional and only requires a 2.9% credit card fee.
- Create a well-crafted fundraising profile and follow the crowdfunding website’s tips for attracting donations. Some crowdfunding tips and activity ideas can be found here.
- Use social media to share your profile and fundraising efforts with friends and family. Most crowdfunding sites make this easy by offering dedicated tools for sharing and tweeting your site and latest updates.
You can also talk to your high school guidance counselor for ideas on how to raise money. They’ll know of organizations or companies in the community that might be willing to provide support or scholarships to students attending educational camps. You have a lot of tools at your disposal, so use them!
